Post Production Services:
After the recording sessions are complete,
artists will be given a fully mastered Redbook
standard PMCD for duplication. The artist
may choose to handle all post production
services through their own vendors,
however, the companies listed to the right
have offered special rates to SoGo artists.

MASTERING: $250.00 per album (this cost is included in your SoGo package)
There is often much confusion regarding mastering services. Mastering is much more
than setting levels and compiling songs on a CD. Certain things are taken care of in this
stage such as clicks & pops, hiss, rumble, etc. Anomalies and parallels that affect
dynamic processing need to be taken care of and corrective EQ may be applied using a
DAW or outboard analog EQ. After the signal leaves the DAW, additional EQ and
dynamics may be applied using outboard gear. Limiting, if necessary, is handled fairly
late in the game, perhaps just before dithering. Dithering choices vary between several
hardware and software options and is decided during the session.
The processed tracks are assembled in the DAW and starts, stops and pauses are
written in as a single master file is rendered that includes all audio and PQ data. The
final mix will be hot, bright and big, giving your project the overall professional sound
needed to compete at the retail level and be attractive to radio stations.
